Two children of late media aides of Atiku Abubakar are set to graduate from the university on the former vice-president’s scholarship.

Asuku Onukaba received a full scholarship after the death of Onukaba Adinoyi-Ojo, his father, who was a long-time media assistant to Atiku.

Onukaba Adinoyi-Ojo died in March 2017. He was the first special assistant on media and publicity to Atiku.

Chinememma, the daughter of Emmanuel Ugoji, another deceased Atiku media aide, also received a full scholarship from the former VP.

Atiku had promised to pay for the education of both children.

Asuku studied software engineering and Chinememma majored in law at the American University of Nigeria (AUN), an institution founded by Atiku.

The duo will join the graduating class at the 14th commencement ceremony of AUN on May 27.

“I cannot at this moment fully express my gratitude to His Excellency Atiku Abubakar, GCON, for granting me a full scholarship to complete my education at AUN,” Chinememma said.

“Your investment in me means the world to me and my family and has opened up a world of possibilities and opportunities for me to be an AUN Alumni.”

Asuku added: “My time at AUN has been nothing short of amazing.

“The supportive and inclusive environment at AUN has allowed me to thrive both academically and personally.”
