Clark: Militants are our children… FG must consult us before any negotiation

Clark: Militants are our children… FG must consult us before any negotiation

Edwin Clark, prominent Ijaw leader, says any dialogue between the federal government and militants in the Niger Delta region would not yield result without the involvement of Ijaw elders.

Clark said this in Warri on Saturday during a consultative council meeting, which had in attendance Seriake Dickson, Bayelsa governor, and Kingsley Otuaro, Delta deputy governor.

The meeting was aimed at reaching common ground on the renewed militancy and its impact in the Niger Delta and Nigeria.

“In 2008 and 2009 similar incident happened and Gbaramatu was affected. We elders and leaders intervened and we got amnesty,” he said.

“Today we hear that federal government is planning, already talking or negotiating with militants and nobody has consulted us.

“That will not work. These children are our children and we cannot fold our hands when they are being attacked and pretend not to notice.

“We must be involved in what government wants to do.”

When they were busy destroying the infrastructure of state, you urged them on. Now that the state has an alternative to the onslaught, you’re beginning to cry.
Wait and see integrity in action. PMB will neutralize all your criminality.

Produce tompolo and others in due course and stop negotiations for it has no way to solve this problem unless we want to trade Nigeria prestige on the altar of these notorious felons

Peace and prosperity only comes with justice and truth, which is lacking in Nigeria because of greed and people clamouring to reap where they did not sow in the name of unity.
This is the cause of corruption in Nigeria, people and states have become lazy and have lost all forms of innovation because of oil money.
It is a pity, we will continue to cheat ourselves if we do not take our eyes off this oil and face other sources of income.
Nigeria must be restructured. This is the only way

So these so-called elders take pride in the destructive activities of their misguided elements who are busy destroying oil pipelines that their generations yet unborn cannot put together. Shame! This is a clear case of the son of a mad man proudly saying his father can bite anybody. Sheer insanity. It is not their fault but that of our military that lacks the superior firepower to wipe out the overcelebrated miscreants. FG will only be deceiving itself with any form of negotiations at this stage because it will be foolishness to negotiate from the position of weaknesses where the FG unfortunately finds itself at present. The logic is that if the FG shamefully acedes to the frivolous demands of these Niger Delta Animals as flaunted by their various godfathers of different shades, they will continue to blackmail the entire nation in perpetuity. In a sane clime, these criminals and their godfathers/sponsors/supporters are called saboteurs and will be treated as such. My advice to the FG is to up the competence of the military and flush out these spoilt brats who have metamorphosised into monsters once and for all. If this is not done their stupid demands coupled with their nefarious activities will continue without an end. As a food for thought to the government these misguided elements do not manufacture the sophisticated weapons. How do the weapons get into the country and by extension into the hands of the these ragtag miscreants who see insanity as their birthright. Can the government wake up and do the needful.

Your children have been misbehaving and could not bring them to order. Its a shame that you are even talking like that. If you cannot stop them from destroying Nigera’s economy any action taken by the govt to arrest the situation is in order as you have already failed as a ‘father’to make them stop the nonsense they are doing.

I know from the beginning that this is a conspiracy to frustrate the government of president Mohammad Buhari by these elders and highly placed politicians from the zone, this is a clear testimony to the fact that they know from day one and are part of this militancy, the wind has blown and we have seen that anus of fowl. They are your children and you must bear the consequences of their devilish actions.
