Richard Quest, a presenter for CNN, US news-based pay television channel, says he has tested positive for COVID-19, the respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus.

Quest, better known for hosting Quest Means Business, broke the news through his Twitter page on Monday evening.

He revealed that he has felt symptoms from the respiratory illness, although they have not been as severe as what others who have been infected have reported.

Quest, who doubles as economics reporter for the network, also urged people to stay isolated to reduce the virus’s spread.

“I have caught coronavirus. I am blessed in that I have few symptoms – just a cough. I am saving my prayers and thoughts for those less fortunate. Stay in. And protect lives,” he wrote, shortly after making an on-air announcement.

The development makes him the third on-air employee with the CNN to have tested positive for the killer virus.

Chris Cuomo and Brooke Baldwin, two other New York-based anchors for the network, had both tested positive for the novel disease.

So far, there have been close to 790,000 coronavirus cases in the United States and nearly 43,000 deaths.
