Commonwealth scholars congratulate Gambari on appointment as Buhari’s CoS

The Commonwealth Scholars and Fellows Alumni Association, Nigeria (COSFAN) has congratulated Ibrahim Gambari on his appointment as the chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Gambari, a former minister of external affairs, was announced as the president’s chief of staff on Wednesday.

A statement by Taiwo Obe, COSFAN publicity secretary, quoted Abiola Adimula, president of the association, as describing Gambari as a “leader par excellence.”

Adimula said the new chief of staff has contributed immensely to national development.

“[He is a] dynamic, highly intelligent, leader par excellence, an accomplished diplomat and a seasoned administrator who has contributed immensely to national development and has displayed impressive and commendable representation of the country at the global community,” Adimula said.

According to the statement, Olugbemiro Jegede, chairman of COSFAN board of trustees and founding vice chancellor of the National Open University, described Gambari’s appointment as the “right peg in the right hole.”

Obe said Michael Omolewa and Comfort Ekpo, COSFAN advisers, also hailed the president for choosing someone with “impressive antecedents” as his chief of staff.
