Computer problems delay British Airways flights worldwide

Computer problems are delaying British Airways flights worldwide, but the the airline says it is working to resolve the problem as soon as possible.

Heathrow airport in London disclosed that it is working closely with the airline to solve the issue.

The number of affected flights could not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report, but passengers across different airports have been complaining on social media.

Philip Bloom, British filmmaker,  said he had been waiting on board a Heathrow-bound flight at Belfast.

“Stuck on a @British_Airways plane at Belfast going nowhere. ‘BA computers down worldwide’ whatever that means! # British airways,” he wrote on Twitter.

“Sat on tarmac @ #belfast as #britishairways computers r down worldwide. Have they tried turning them off& on again?”

“#britishairways Long queues at Terminal 5 and it’s starting to get hot. Feel sorry for frazzled little children. No announcements at all,” another passenger tweeted.

The filmmaker later tweeted that the problem could have been resolved.

In response, British Airways apologised for inconveniences but could not vouch for other flights.

“We’re glad to hear it, Philip. We hope the delay doesn’t impact any onward travel plans, and we’re sorry for any frustration caused.”
