Amina Ali Nkeki or Falmata Mbalala, who exactly is the Chibok girl rescued from Boko Haram sect on Wednesday?
Confusion has continued to trail the identity of one of the 219 girls abducted form Government Secondary School, Chibok, in April 2014.
The report of her release became public exactly 765 days after they were held captive.
Oby Ezekwesili, co-convener of Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) movement, who was excited about the news, took to Twitter to announce it, but she identified the girl as Amina Ali.
Quoting the Civilian JTF, which secured her release, Tunji Olarenwaju, a member of the strategic team of BBOG identified the 19-year-old as Amina Nkeki.
Hours later, the Nigerian army released a statement, giving her out as Falmata Mbalala.
The army’s account of how the girl was rescued also differed from that of the local vigilante outfit.
While Civilian JTF said she was found around Sambisa, the military said she was rescued in Damboa in Borno state.
“This is to confirm that one of the abducted Chibok school girls, Falmata Mbalala, was among the rescued persons by our troops at Baale near Damboa,” Sani Usman, army spokesman, said in a statement.
Dambo or Sambisa? Nkeki or Mbalala? Nigerians are glad that one of the girls is back.
