The Lagos state government has started tracing passengers who were on board British Airways (BA) 75 flight to Lagos on March 13.

The third case of coronavirus discovered on Tuesday was on the flight.

At a press conference on Tuesday, Akin Abayomi, Lagos commissioner for health, said the government now has the manifest of the BA flight and the contact tracing of the passengers on the flight had commenced.

“Lagos State Ministry of Health has the manifest of BA75 flight that brought the latest COVID-19 confirmed case to Lagos. Contact tracing of everyone on the flight has commenced,” he said.

Abayomi had earlier advised passengers on the flight to stay at home and isolate themselves for 14 days.

The patient, a 30-year-old Nigerian lady, returned from the United Kingdom on March 13 and was said to have come through the flight.

Abayomi said the patient lives with her parents and one sibling, adding that the entire family had been transferred to the Infectious Disease Hospital at Yaba, Lagos, as a preventive measure and for monitoring.
