An Ikeja chief magistrate’s court has remanded a 13-year-old boy in a Borstal correctional centre for allegedly defiling his neighbour’s daughter.

Bola Osunsanmi, the presiding judge, who refused to take the minor’s plea, asked that the suspect remain in custody until April 17 for legal advice from the director of public prosecution (DPP).

Raji Akeem, the prosecution counsel, said the suspect, who is a student and lives with his parents at 96 Oshodi Road, Oshodi, was charged with defilement.

Akeem explained that the boy lured his neighbour’s six-year-old girl to his room, when their parents were away in January 2024, and defiled her.
