The Osun state high court has ruled that Muslim female pupils in the state can wear hijab to school.

In his judgment on Friday, Jide Falola, the judge, held that it was the fundamental right of the pupils to wear hijab to school.

The judgment was delivered in a suit filed by the Muslim community in the state against the state government.

There had been a crisis in the primary and in the secondary school system of Osun state over the legality of pupils to wear hijab to class.
