COVID-19: 7,200 fans to watch Eagles, Lesotho clash at Lagos stadium

Seven thousand, two hundred spectators will be allowed to watch the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier between the Super Eagles and Lesotho at the Teslim Balogun stadium in Lagos.

Ademola Olajire, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) director of communication, confirmed the development to TheCable on Friday.

He said the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has given the greenlight for 7,200 spectators to grace the 24,000 capacity stadium for the match.

“CAF approved 30% of the 24,000 Teslim Balogun stadiums capacity,” Olajire told TheCable.

“So, we are expecting 7,200 fans to cheer the Super Eagles to victory.

“However, COVID-19 protocols must be strictly adhered for spectators admittance into the stadium.”

Super Eagles will take on the crocodiles of Lesotho on March 30 in their last group D AFCON qualifing game in Lagos.

The three-time African champion need just a point to secure the ticket to the tournament proper in Cameroon.
