Nigeria’s daily COVID-19 count maintained a relatively low figure on Tuesday with 346 fresh cases confirmed in 17 states and the federal capital territory (FCT).

Since March 5, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has been reporting less than 400 COVID-19 cases.

In the NCDC update of March 9, the figure of new infections also maintained a relatively low point.

Lagos recorded the highest number of fresh infections with 86 cases, followed by Bauchi with 64 new infections, and Kaduna and Kwara states with 26 new cases each.

Other states where new cases were recorded are FCT (24), Rivers (23), Plateau (22), Ogun (16), Ebonyi (14), Bayelsa (12), Cross River (10), Edo (8), Akwa Ibom (5), Ekiti (3), Gombe (2), Kano (2), Osun (2) and Delta (1).

Also, 554 recoveries were reported on Tuesday, bringing the total recoveries to 139,056.

Tuesday’s recoveries include 170 community recoveries in Lagos and 83 in Kwara managed in line with COVID-19 guidelines.

However, six new deaths were recorded which brings the total number of fatalities to 1,988.
