The court of appeal in Calabar has declared Jerigbe Agom-Jerigbe as the duly elected senator for Cross River North senatorial district.

The court which sat on Friday also declared Agom-Jarigbe as the lawful candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the December 5, 2020 bye-election.

The seat of the Cross River North senatorial district became vacant in March 2020 after the death of Rose Oko.

The duo of Steven Odey and Agom-Jarigbe had been at loggerheads on who is the rightful candidate to occupy the seat of the deceased senator.

The court ordered INEC to issue Agom Jarigbe a fresh certificate of return and that he should be sworn in immediately.
