Lawal Tukur, an assistant superintendent of customs (ASC), has reportedly been found dead in Murjani hotel in the Katsina metropolis.
According to Zagazola Makama, a counterinsurgency publication, the deceased officer was said to have lodged at the hotel.
The publication said the hotel staff reportedly discovered his lifeless body at the hotel room on Thursday around 8:30am.
Sources at the hotel said the deceased customs officers lodged at the hotel with three women.

Two women reportedly spent the night with the deceased, while another one visited them later and also lodged in the same hotel.
The body of the officer was taken to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Katsina, where he was confirmed dead and deposited at the mortuary for autopsy.
Speaking with TheCable, Bello Isah, spokesperson of the Nigeria Customs Service, Katsina command, confirmed the death of the officer.

Isah said the command was informed about the death of the officer by his family.
When asked if the officer died at the hotel, he said he does not have the details of what led to the death of the officer.
“It is true, but everybody has their own personal life. He did not die in the line of duty,” Isah said.
“We don’t have details about what happened. All we know is that he has died.

“It is confirmed that he has died. We were informed by his family when his body was at the Katsina teaching hospital.”
