The Daily Times has announced activities to mark its 100th anniversary.
Fedelis Anosike, the chairman of Folio Communication, publishers of Daily Times, shared the plans at a press briefing held in Lagos on Friday.
Anosike said a 12-month-long celebration will be held to commemorate the centenary of the publication, which began operations in 1926.
He added that a 700-page book detailing various important events and developments in Nigeria will also be launched.

Anosike said the book has been in the making for over a decade and was compiled by a team led by Tunji Okegbola, the librarian of the Daily Times archives for over 30 years.
The publisher also announced the establishment of Folio Media Academy to train the next generation of journalists in the ethics, practices, and skills of modern journalism.
Anosike added that writers, editors, and prominent members, who have contributed to the newspaper over the last century, will also be honoured at a grand event.

The potential recipients include Olusegun Osoba, a former governor of Ogun; Sam Amuka; Onyema Ugochukwu; and Dele Cole, among others.
The publisher announced that a new vision for the Daily Times’ second century will also be launched, featuring a fully digital, data-driven newsroom designed to serve both Nigerian and international audiences.
Anosike added that the platform tagged “DTN @2.0” will be rolled out on June 26, 2026.
