Solomon Dalung, minister of youth and sports, says Nigeria’s bobsled team will win a medal in future Winter Olympics.

The trio of Seun Adigun, Akuoma Omeoga and Ngozi Onwumere represented Nigeria at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, North Korea.

They became the first African team to qualify for the event, eventually placing 20th in the bobsled competition.

Dalung described their participation in the tournament as historic, saying he expects them to shock the world at the next Winter Games.

“Despite placing 20th overall, it means they’re among the world’s best 20 Bobsled athletes.

“They also recorded an overall personal best time of 3.29.60secs at the Games.
