Abdulrahman Dambazau, minister of interior, was absent at the federal executive council  (FEC) meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday.

Garba Shehu, senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, had announced the postponement of the meeting to Thursday.

FEC meeting usually holds on Wednesday.

Abubakar Malami, attorney-general of the federation and Winifred Oyo-Ita, head of the civil service of the federation, are at the meeting.

The three top officials of the current administration were linked to the reinstatement of  Abdulrasheed Maina, former chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms, into the civil service.

Maina, who fled the country after being investigated for a N100 billion fraud, returned to the civil service under controversial circumstances.

Buhari was embarrassed after the news of his recall broke. He ordered Maina’s “immediate disengagement” and gave Oyo-Ita a few hours to probe the reinstatement and submit a report.

She has since submitted the report to Abba Kyari, chief of staff to the president.

The FEC meeting was ongoing as of the time this report was filed.
