Dangote refinery suspends self-collection of petrol by marketers to promote free delivery scheme

Trucks at Dangote refinery loading stations

The management of the Dangote refinery has halted self-collection of petroleum products by its partners.

In a notice seen by TheCable, signed by the group commercial operations department of the refinery, the company instructed its partners to use its newly acquired trucks for product loading.

Consequently, the refinery temporarily stopped partners from using their trucks to load products at its gantry.

“We wish to inform you that, effective 18th September 2025, Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE has placed all self-collection gantry sales on hold until further notice,” the notice reads.

“In light of this development, we kindly request that all payments related to active PFIs for self-collection are also placed on hold until further notice. Please note that any payment made after this date will not be honoured.”

The company assured that its free delivery scheme remains in place for both existing and newly onboarded customers.

“We encourage all active and newly onboarded customers to register for the DPRP Free Delivery Scheme, which remains fully operational and offers a seamless delivery experience to your station,” the refinery said.

The organisation also apologised for the inconveniences the decision might cause.

“We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding as we implement this operational adjustment,” the notice said.

The development comes four days after the refinery commenced the loading of petrol via its compressed natural gas (CNG)-powered trucks under its direct supply scheme.
