Dantawaye Miller appointed FCT police commissioner

Kayode Egbetokun, inspector-general of police (IGP), has appointed Dantawaye Miller as the commissioner of police in the federal capital territory (FCT).

Miller succeeded Ajao Adewale, former FCT CP, who was recently redeployed by Egbetokun.

Prior to the new appointment, Miller was the commissioner of police, Kogi state command.

In a statement on Friday, Josephine Adeh, FCT police spokesperson, said Miller has since assumed duty as the 34th FCT commissioner of police.

BRIEF BIO

An indigene of Afogo in Kajuru LGA of Kaduna state, Miller was born on October 15, 1971.

He attended St. Williams Primary School, Ilorin, Kwara state, and Nuhu Primary School, Kankiya, Katsina state, for his primary school education.

He later attended Government College, Katsina, and subsequently Federal Government College, Enugu, where he obtained his senior school certificate in 1989.

He earned a diploma in business administration from Kaduna State Polytechnic, Zaria, and a bachelor of science degree in international studies from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

He has a masters degree in international studies from the University of Ilorin in Kwara state.

He was enlisted into the force as a cadet assistant superintendent of police course 20 in May 2000.

He was posted to Bayelsa state police command in January 2002 to commence his policing career after completing his passing out parade.

Miller had served in several positions in the force including assistant commissioner of police (Operations), FCT police command; area commander, Karewa, Adamawa state; assistant commissioner (CID), Oyo state command; deputy commissioner of police (operations), Yobe and Edo state commands; commissioner of police, information technology (IT), force headquarters, Abuja.
