Sunday Dare, minister of youth and sports development, was on Wednesday night awarded the “best-performing minister” prize at the Nigeria Sports Governor Merit Award and Nigeria Philanthropist Merit Award.

Dare, who was represented at the event held at the Shehu Yar’ Adua Centre in Abuja by Bamiduro Olumide, his special assistant on policy, thanked the organisers for what he described as a special recognition accorded him.

“This award and the other awards I have received are some of the evidence of the commitment of the Buhari administration to the growth of the youth and sports sector,” the minister said.

“I am also grateful for the opportunity given me to serve and make an impact in the lives of our youth.”
