Usman Ododo, governor of Kogi, says the assailants who killed 25 people in the Agojeju-Odo community, Omala LGA of the state, will be brought to justice.

On April 5, gunmen attacked the community, killing many people, with more injured and properties destroyed.

Speaking about the incident, Ododo described the attack as a “dastardly act”, adding that security operatives have been deployed to track down the perpetrators.

“I am assuring the citizens that the perpetrators of the dastardly act will be brought to justice soon,” the governor said.

“Already, security agencies are on the trail of the assailants whose acts of mindless cowardice resulted in the destruction of lives and property in the area,”

Ododo also sent a delegation led by Joel Oyibo-Salifu, his deputy governor, on a condolence visit to the affected community.

The governor promised to deploy a detachment of the recently established Metropolitan Quick Response to the area to ease security challenges.
