The ministry of sports and youth development on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Delta state government to get hosting rights for the four editions of the National Youth Games from 2023 to 2026.

Sunday Dare, the sports minister, while signing the MoU at the government house, Asaba said the right award was one of the enduring legacies of the Muhammadu Buhari administration.

On his part, Ifeanyi Okowa, the governor of Delta, said the government agreed to sign the MoU due to its belief in youth development from the grassroots.

“Delta state has been a leading champion in almost all the sporting competitions. We need other states to challenge us and let them get prepared early enough to compete at least for second position because Delta will ever maintain its lead,” said Okowa while thanking the federal government for the right honour.
