Deschamps, Guardiola, Zidane nominated for FIFA coach of the year award

France’s World Cup-winning coach Didier Deschamps has been shortlisted for the Best FIFA Men’s Coach award.

Zinedine Zidane, who won his third consecutive Champions League with Real Madrid, is also nominated.

Zlatko Dalic claims a place on the 11-man list after taking Croatia to a World Cup final for the first time in their history.

Also on the list is Pep Guardiola who helped Man City lift the English Premier League (EPL) title in record-breaking fashion as they became the first team to reach 100 points.

The other nominees on the 11-man list include England’s Gareth Southgate, Russia’s Stanislav Cherchesov, Massimilano Allegri of Italy, Liverpool’s Jürgen Klopp, Belgium coach Roberto Martinez, Diego Simeone of Atlético Madrid and Barcelona’s gaffer Ernesto Valverde.

FIFA, the world football governing body, will announce the final list of three nominees, in early September.

The winner will be crowned during a ceremony which will take place in London on September 24.
