Reporters are currently at the Nigerian Air Force base along Mando road in Kaduna, with the hope of seeing President Muhammadu Buhari.

Information about the return of the president is not clear.

In the three-paragraph statement which Femi Adesina, presidential spokesman, issued late Thursday, there was no mention of the time that Buhari would land in Nigeria.

Journalists had initially gone to the Kaduna international airport before converging on the base.

There were unconfirmed reports that Buhari had arrived at 4am, and moved into the base, which is some distance from the airport.
