Aisha, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, on Friday re-posted videos of senators criticising her husband.
In the video posted on Twitter, Isah Misau, senator representing Bauchi-central and Ben Murray-Bruce, Bayelsa-east senator, criticised her husband’s handling of government affairs.
Misau said Ahmed Abubakar, the director-general of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) is incompetent, and that many ministers have not been functioning.
“Today, the DG NIA that was just appointed, is he qualified to be there?” Misau asked.
“This is a person that failed two exams. We know. And just because he is close to the cabal, he is close to the people calling the shots, he was appointed. So many incompetent people are holding so many functions.
“Even today, 50 percent of the ministers are not performing. Since the time the president assumed office, he has not taken any decision to move this country.
“Today we are seeing it and everybody is avoiding it, nobody wants to say anything. Until we begin to talk, all these things we are doing here cannot solve our problems.”
On his part, Bruce said it seemed to him like the country is becoming a lawless one, where “there is no consequence for bad behaviour”.
“It seems to me that Nigeria is becoming a lawless country. The country with no rules and regulations,” Bruce said.
“A country where laws are not adhered to. A country where there is no consequence for bad behaviour. We either have a government or we don’t, we either have security agencies or we don’t.
“These are the fundamentals issues at stake today because every day since we have gotten here someone has gotten killed, raped, throat slit, killed at gunpoint.”
The clips are from a debate on the Benue killings which took place at the upper legislative chamber on Wednesday.
This is not the first time that Aisha would disapprove of her husband in public.
In October 2016, she alleged that her husband’s government had been hijacked, adding that she might not support his re-election bid.
