DiCaprio: Climate change ‘the most urgent threat’ of all

In what seemed like a lifetime wait, Leonardo DiCaprio, after six Oscar nominations, finally won his first Academy Award for Best Actor in movie, The Revenant.

Delivering his acceptance speech, DiCaprio said: “Climate change is real; it is happening right now.

“It is the most urgent threat facing our species, and we need to work collectively together and stop procrastinating.

“Let us not take this planet for granted. I do not take tonight for granted.”

His last Oscar nomination was in 2014, where he was nominated for his leading role in The Wolf of Wall Street.

DiCaprio waited 21 years for this prestigious award.
