Boss of the Supreme Mavin Dynasty (SMD), Michael Collins, better known as Don Jazzy, has declared Cobhams Asuquo, a fellow producer and founder of Cobhams Asuquo Music Production (CAMP), a legend.
Don Jazzy said this after watching Cobhams play to top grossing song Awww by Di’ja in a video Cobhams posted online.
Don Jazzy took to his Twitter and Instagram accounts to make the declaration and pay respect to the award winning singer and producer of ordinary people.
“When a legend decides to play your song on his keys, you know that’s a hit right there,” he wrote.
“Baba cobhams I hail. #Repost @cobhamsasuquo ・・・ Got this tune by Di’Ja stuck in my head!”
“What is this naaa? Reminds me of the songs I used to love as a child when I was in love with love #goodmusic.”
Cobhams Asuquo is a talented producer of good music who has received numerous accolades as testament to his uniqueness in the Nigerian music industry.
Speaking at TEDx Euston in 2013, the artiste, who has been blind from birth, said he believes that blindness is a gift that keeps one focused by “distracting you from the many distractions that comes with sight”.
Asa, Banky W, Waje, Bez, Omawumi, Rooftop MCs are among the ultra-hit artistes that the 34-year-old producer has influenced.
In 2007, he produced Asa’s breakthrough album titled Asa.
