Donald Duke picks Junaid Mohammed as running mate

Donald Duke, presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), has picked Junaid Mohammed as his running mate for the 2019 poll.

Duke, a former governor of Cross-Rivers state, announced this via his Twitter handle.

Mohammed, who trained as a medical doctor, was born in Dala, Kano state.

Duke described the second republic lawmaker as a well-known academic who has been on the political scene as a firebrand.

“Dr Mohammed was a founding member of the PRP in 1976 under the leadership of the late Mallam Aminu Kano and was until his nomination the SDP National Deputy Chairman for the North-West,” he tweeted.

Mohammed who is a critic of the incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari, in February, had said the president’s return in 2019 would end in tragedy.
