The two ministers taking oath of office
President Bola Tinubu has sworn in Bernard Doro and Kingsley Udeh as ministers during a brief ceremony at the State House.
The ceremony took place shortly before the federal executive council (FEC) meeting presided over by Tinubu on Thursday.
Doro from Plateau state replaces Nentawe Yilwatda as minister of humanitarian affairs and poverty reduction, who resigned to become APC national chairman. Doro’s appointment was confirmed by the senate in late October.
Udeh succeeds Uche Nnaji as minister of science, innovation and technology, after he resigned amid allegations of certificate forgery.

Udeh was confirmed by the senate earlier on Thursday after a brief plenary screening.
Before joining the federal cabinet, Udeh served as attorney-general and commissioner for justice in Enugu state.
The council paused during the meeting to observe a minute of silence in memory of Solomon Ewuga, former minister of state for FCT under former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Ewuga also served as deputy governor of Nasarawa state, senator representing Nasarawa north, and ambassador to Angola under ex-president Goodluck Jonathan.
The council further honoured Abdullahi Mohammed Adangba, a former chief of staff to ex-presidents Obasanjo and Umaru Yar’Adua, who died at the age of 86.
Among those present at the FEC meeting were George Akume, secretary to the government of the federation; Didi Walson-Jack, head of the civil service; Femi Gbajabiamila, chief of staff to the president; Nuhu Ribadu, national security adviser, alongside most cabinet ministers.
