The U-23 national team, the Dream Team, defeated Gabon 4-1 in Libreville in their first leg qualifying round for the 11th All-Africa Games.

The Samson Siasia-tutored side went ahead in the first minute of the match through a Junior Ajayi goal.

Warri Wolves striker Etebo Oghenekaro increased the tally from the penalty spot two minutes to the end of the first half.

Ajayi put his side 3-0 up in the 47th minute before the hosts pulled one back through Axel Meye midway into the second half.

The Dream Team restored their three-goal cushion when Enyimba forward Peter Onyekachi made it 4-1 in the 88th minute.

The return leg will take place at the National Stadium, Abuja on Saturday, March 7.
