A commercial Mazda bus fully loaded with passengers collided with a broken-down Private Sector Participant (PSP) truck on the fast lane of Obadore bridge, Igando area of Lagos on Sunday.
The bus, with registration number LND 602 YE, crashed into the stationary truck, resulting in the death of the bus driver, an adult male.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) said its officials responded promptly after distress alerts were received.
Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, permanent secretary of the agency, said the deceased was identified as a staff member of Lagos State University (LASU).

He said preliminary investigations revealed that the truck, with registration number KSF 254 XV, had broken down on the fast lane without any caution signs or warning signals to alert oncoming vehicles.
Oke-Osanyintolu said the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LRT) secured the scene and implemented traffic control measures to prevent further accidents.
He added that the incident site was cleared, and normal traffic flow resumed after the recovery operation concluded.
