DSS arrests Kwankwaso’s ex-chief of staff

The Department of State Service (DSS) has arrested Yunusa Dangwani, former chief of staff to Rabiu Kwankwaso, ex-governor of Kano state.

A source at the Aminu Kano International Airport Kano, said Dangwani was arrested on Wednesday while trying to flee to Saudi Arabia.

The source said DSS  operatives trailed the ex-chief of staff to the airport after arresting of one Umar Abdullahi, a retired military officer.

Abdullahi who reportedly disguised as a terrorist was arrested after he allegedly sent a text message to a prominent personality in Kano, threatening to make the state ungovernable over some issues.

The retired military officer was said to have confessed, following interrogation, that Dangwani contracted him to carry out the threat.

The source said a transaction of N1.5 million between Abdullahi and Dangwani was traced with a documented evidence of a bank deposit.

After realising that Dangwani had been arrested, the politician reportedly made an attempt to abscond to Saudia Arabia but was caught.
