Barry Donald (L) and Victor Godwin (R)
The Department of State Services (DSS) says it has arrested two dismissed officers who were allegedly using the name of the agency to defraud citizens.
In a statement published on its X handle on Wednesday, the DSS said the ex-officers, Barry Donald and Victor Godwin, will be prosecuted in line with the law.
The agency said it has resolved to publish the names of other personnel who were dismissed in the past to “prevent citizens from falling victim of possible criminal intent of any of these individuals”.
“Recall that the Department of State Services (DSS) recently issued disclaimers on two dismissed personnel of the Service, Barry DONALD and Victor Onyedikachi GODWIN. These individuals were alleged to be cloaking under the Service to engage in fraudulent activities,” the statement reads.

“The public is, hereby, notified that these culprits have been apprehended and will face prosecution in accordance with the law”.
In a notice published on Sunday, DSS alerted Nigerians against dealing with Godwin for allegedly using the name of the agency to defraud citizens.
Last week, the DSS similarly warned against dealing with Donald for the same allegations.
