The Department of State Services (DSS), Kano command, has arrested a syndicate that allegedly specialises in robbing bank customers in the state.

Alhassan Muhammad, the DSS director in Kano, said this on Friday while parading the suspects at the agency’s headquarters in Kano.

He said for the past three years, the suspects have been “terrorising” people of the state.

Muhammad said those arrested are 30-year-old Abubakar Umar, 38-year-old Abubakar Suleiman, and 32-year-old Ya’u Abubakar.

He said the suspects were apprehended after breaking a motorcycle and carting away N300,000 withdrawn by a resident from a bank.

“We got them around Jaen quarters in the Kano metropolitan area at a house, after they broke the motorcycle and stole the money,” he said.

“Our investigation revealed that for the past three years, these suspects have been operating in Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, Maiduguri and other states.”

Muhammad also said the agency has stationed its officers to ensure that the remaining members of the syndicate are arrested.

He added that the DSS would hand the suspects over to the police for prosecution after investigation.
