A last-gasp equaliser by substitute Uche Nwofor rescued a draw for Nigeria in their World Cup warm-up match against Scotland at Fulham’s Craven Cottage. The match ended 2-2.

Charlie Mulgrew’s audacious flick and an own goal from Azubuike Egwuekwe had given Scotland a 2-1 lead over the Super Eagles, but Nwofor pounced after a mix-up in the Scotland defence and poked the ball past Allan McGregor to level matters.

Mulgrew’s effort after nine minutes gave Scotland the lead, as he put the ball past Austin Ejide following Shaun Maloney’s short corner, but Belgium-based striker Michael Uchebo equalised four minutes before the interval with a deflected shot.

Early in the second half, Egwuekwe handed Scotland the advantage, putting through his own net after a shot from James Morrison, but the Scots were unable to hang on.

Gordon Greer hit the ground in a challenge with Nwofor, who reacted quicker when the ball came back into the box to fire past McGregor from an acute angle.
