Eagles have been written off and Musa is happy

Nigeria forward, Ahmed Musa, is happy that the Super Eagles have already been written off even before a ball has been kicked in Brazil. This, Musa believes, is a good omen for the team.

After unimpressive pre-World Cup games that ended in two draws and a loss, Argentina and Bosnia-Herzegovina are now favourites to emerge from Group F with Nigeria and Iran making up the numbers. But Musa has said the players are up to the task of representing Nigeria and the continent of Africa well in Brazil, as the underdog tag will take pressure off them.

“I am happy that people are not talking about us as favourites in our group; it is a good omen for the team,” he told AfricanFootball.com

“But we are professionals who know what it means and takes to play in the World Cup. I am therefore assuring Nigerians that we are equal to the task and will represent Nigerians and Africans well in Brazil. Nigerians will see the real Super Eagles when World Cup starts.”

The CSKA Moscow winger, though, called for support from Nigerians.

“We are here to represent the nation, so we expect Nigerians to be behind us and to support us, as we won’t let them down,” he said.
