The World Health Ogranisation (WHO) has lamented bed shortage in Liberia as the death toll from Ebola soars to almost 3,000.

According to Reuters, five West African nations hit by the virus have suffered at least 2,917 deaths from 6,263 cases recorded.

Despite the disposal of foreign aid to Liberia over the months, WHO insists that the country is still in need of 1,550 bed spaces.

The declaration is in contrast with the situation in Nigeria, whose minister of health, Onyebuchi Chukwu, said on Wednesday it no longer had any case of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD).
