Francis Nwifuru, governor of Ebonyi state, has lifted the one-month suspension imposed on 81 appointees for failing to attend state function.
Last month, the governor suspended his political appointees for allegedly failing to attend an “important” government function.
The political appointees suspended include 25 commissioners, 14 senior special assistants, 24 special assistants, and 22 permanent secretaries.
Monday Uzor, chief press secretary to the governor, had said the officials will proceed on a “one-month working suspension without salary”.

However, in a statement signed by Uzor on Tuesday, Nwifuru has directed the lifting of the suspension on the appointees.
He said the affected commissioners, senior special assistants (SSAs) special assistants (SAs) and permanent secretaries are to resume official duties immediately.
