Ebunoluwa Oduwole
The management of Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, has appointed Ebunoluwa Olufemi Oduwole, a professor of philosophy, as its first female vice-chancellor.
Oduwole’s appointment was announced in a recent statement by the Anglican Communion of the Diocese of Ibadan South.
She is regarded as a seasoned academic and administrator.
Oduwole is a professor of African Philosophy and Ethics at the Department of Philosophy of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun state.

She holds a B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Ibadan.
She also earned an M.Sc. in Bioethics from the Erasmus Mundus consortium, which includes Katholieke University (Belgium), Radboud University (Netherlands), and the University of Padova (Italy).
The church leadership said Oduwole brings to the system a wealth of experience, intellectual distinction, and spiritual commitment.”

Oduwole is married to Venerable Olusoji Oduwole of Christ Church Mapo, a parish of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) in Ibadan.
The church described Oduwole as a devout Christian committed to teaching God’s word.
She serves as a leader of Sunday morning Bible study at the Christ Church Mapo and St. Anne’s Church, Molete, in Ibadan.
She has held academic positions at OOU, including Head of Department, Director of General and Entrepreneurial Studies, and Deputy Vice-Chancellor.

Her academic researches also include studies in African Philosophy, Ethics and Bioethics, Gender Studies, and global issues in Bioethics.
