Eid-el Maulud: FG declares Nov 20 as public holiday
The federal government has declared November 20 as public holiday to mark the Eid-El Maulud celebration.
This was made known by Abdulrahman Dambazau, minister of interior.
In a statement by M.B Umar, permanent secretary of the ministry, Dambazau urged Muslim faithful to align themselves with the prophet’s teachings which “border on piety, charity, tolerance and peaceful co-existence”.
He called on Nigerians to uphold these virtues with a view to overcoming the current challenges facing the country.
He also said the federal government remains committed to the unity of the country, adding that adequate structures will be put on ground towards ensuring a free, fair and credible general election.
