Gboyega Aribisogan has been elected as the new speaker of the Ekiti state house of assembly.

Aribisogan, who represents Ikole constituency 1, was elected at plenary on Tuesday.

He replaces Funminiyi Afuye, the previous speaker, who died in October after he reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest.
