El-Rufai to cabinet: Buckle up, we have 851 days left
Nasir el-Rufai, governor of Kaduna state, says the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration in the state has 851 days left to deliver on its promises.
Speaking at a retreat held for government officials during the weekend, el-Rufai said the failure of ministries to implement capital projects would not be tolerated.
“The APC administration in Kaduna has 851 days to May 29th, 2019. We must prioritise on delivering on all the promises we made,” he said.
“2017 is a year for delivery in Kaduna state. We shall all be focused on completing all our major projects this year. From now henceforth, lack of capacity to implement capital projects by ministries in the state won’t be tolerated.
“Any commissioner who fails to implement a reasonable percent of capital expenditure this year proves he lacks the capacity to be a commissioner.
“Overheads in Kaduna will now be paid based on MDAs (ministries, departments and agencies) ability to generate IGR (internally generated revenue).
“MDAs that can’t generate N10 million per month shouldn’t spend N15 million.”
