Electoral College Nigeria has graduated its 19th cohort of the Politeracy and Governance 101 programme.
The training programme is aimed at deepening political literacy and civic engagement nationwide.
The 19th cohort, which started training in October 2025 and ended with a virtual graduation on December 14, brought together over 600 participants from across Nigeria.
Over several weeks, the participants engaged in intensive training on governance, democratic participation, and civic responsibility.

At the graduation, Kunle Lawal, the executive director of Electoral College, said the event reflects years of dedication to building a politically informed citizenry.
He said the graduates have not only gained knowledge but also embraced patriotism, exemplary character, and national pride.
The curriculum covered critical topics such as democracy and citizen participation, political psychology, advocacy, gender and governance, inclusion of women, youths, and persons with disabilities, political communication, and media literacy—particularly the identification of misinformation and disinformation.

During the duration of the training, graduates completed civic engagement projects tailored to their states, showcasing their commitment to contributing to Nigeria’s democratic development.
Lisa Wunmi Bello, deputy executive director advised the graduates to act as ambassadors of the institution, promoting political literacy within their communities.
With a network of over 18,000 associates nationwide, Electoral College Nigeria continues to empower citizens to actively participate in governance and strengthen democracy.
