The Growth and Transformation Professionals (GTpro), a socio-economic development group, says it will hold a one-day masterclass programme for tech enthusiasts, economic experts, and policymakers.

In a statement on Tuesday, the group said the programme would focus on identifying and mitigating public policy challenges.

Themed, ‘Navigating Government and Policy Challenges for Business Success and Sustainability’, the programme is scheduled to hold on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at the Oriental Hotel in Lekki, Lagos.

The organisers said Victor Egba, former leader of the senate and senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN); Emeka Maduegbuna, chairman, C&F Porter Novelli; and Hans Essaadi, managing director and chief executive officer (CEO) of Nigeria Breweries Plc, will lead a line up of facilitators at the maiden edition of the masterclass.

Other speakers include Shola Adeyemi, chief legal and regulatory officer of Airtel; Bimbo Daramola, house of representative member; Samba Seye, managing director of TotalEnergies Marketing Nigeria Plc; Olakunle Olamuyiwa, chief operating officer of Betway; and Oluwayemisi Busari, senior adviser, government relations, Honeywell Group.

According to the group, CEOs, top policymakers, investors, executives of firms operating in critical sectors of the Nigerian economy, government officials, and diplomats are expected as participants.

Speaking on the masterclass, Dakuku Peterside, co-founder of GTPro and economic expert, said there would be a faculty consisting of some of the best brains in the policy and legal space, and operators of successful companies in Nigeria.

Peterside is also the immediate past director-general of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), and former house of representative member.

He expressed the belief that understanding how regulations, policy, and the government work, is critical to the success of any sector in the nation’s economy.

The GTPro co-founder said the masterclass programme would deliver to participants unparalleled access to renowned industry experts and immersive, hands-on learning experiences.

He added that the event would provide a platform for cross-fertilisation of ideas among participants.

“Our masterclass programme represents a unique opportunity for participants as it will provide critical insights on the cost-benefits of maintaining a strategic government relations mechanism that is sustainable,” Peterside said.
