Out-of-favour Super Eagles striker, Emmanuel Emenike, cut a forlorn look on Sunday after a torrid treatment from the terraces saw the Fenerbache forward storm off the pitch.
Emenike, who was omitted from the Super Eagles squad to face Uganda and South Africa, was booed by his club fans after missing a one-on-one with Besiktas’ goalkeeper Tolga Zengin in a Turkish league match.
The 27-year-old forward angrily removed his shirt, gesticulating wildly as he marched towards the sidelines. But his coaches on the touchline ordered him to put on his jersey and continue with the game.
He was eventually substituted at half time.
The former Spartak Moscow player is going through a dry spell in front of goal as he has only scored four goals in 22 games for Fenerbache this season.
The fans eventually had something to cheer after Senegalese frontman Moussa Sow scored a dramatic 91 minute winner to secure all three points for the home side.
Despite the win, Fenerbache remain third in the Turkish Super League table with 53 points from 25 games, two behind first-placed Galatasaray.
