Emir of Jama’are dies aged 92 after protracted illness

Muhammadu Wabi III, the emir of Jama’are in Bauchi state, is dead.

Sama’ila Yusuf-Jarma, the chairman of Jama’are local government, confirmed the emir’s death on Sunday.

Yusuf-Jarma said Wabi died at about 12:15 am on Sunday at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital after a protracted illness.

The deceased died at the age of 92.

Wabi was installed emir in 1970 after the death of his father Muhammadu Wabi II.

According to NAN, he is survived by four wives, 35 children and many grandchildren.

The remains of the late emir would be laid to rest today at 2:00 pm in Jama’are town.
