Ohi Alegbe, a former spokesman of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), clocked 60 on Saturday.
A special thanksgiving service to mark the birthday will be held at Four Square Church, Asokoro, Abuja on Sunday.
Family and friends are expected to attend the service.
Born on 24 February, 1958, in Edo state, Alegbe graduated from the University of Benin in 1980. He went into broadcasting in the then Bendel Broadcasting Service, after teaching briefly.
The former NNPC spokesman also rose to become a member of the editorial board of the African Guardian and deputy editor of African Concord after venturing into print journalism.
He later moved into public relations and advertising. In the late 1980s, Alegbe handled successful advertising campaigns such as the Benson & Hedges, Golden Tones and Family Health Services.
In 1993, he founded Quest Communications limited and was chief executive officer (CEO) of the organisation until he was appointed group general manager, group public affairs division of the NNPC in 2014.
He later moved to head the corporate social responsibility (CSR) division of the corporation.
Alegbe is also known for anchoring the One-on-One personality interview programme of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).
