Television Continental (TVC) and The Nation newspaper are yet to resume operations following hoodlums attack on their Lagos head offices on Wednesday.

TheCable had earlier reported that an angry mob attacked TVC’s headquarters in Ketu and also set The Nation newspaper’s head office at Matori in Lagos on fire.

Checks by TheCable on Thursday morning showed that the station is still off-air and a source at The Nation also confirmed that the company could not continue with its planned production for the day.

“We didn’t publish anything. It’s only those who are alive that would think of publishing a newspaper,” he said.

Another source said the hoodlums resumed attacks at the company’s office at night.

“The hoodlums came back in the night when they realised that the building was not burnt,” he said.

Bola Tinubu, national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is believed to be the main target of the attacks.

There have been attacks on private and government-owned properties across the state, following the crisis that erupted as  a result of the #EndSARS protests.

The attacks were triggered by the shooting of unarmed #EndSARS protesters at Lekki toll gate on Tuesday.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos state governor, had denied any involvement in the incident, blaming it on “forces beyond his direct control”.

The #EndSARS protest started as a campaign against misconducts of the now-disbanded special anti-robbery squad (SARS) and expanded its focus to overall police reform.
