Enyimba bounce back to winning ways

Enyimba shrugged off their defeat against Kano Pillars to beat hosts FC Taraba 1-0 in a Week 5 game of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) in Jalingo on Wednesday.

Last season top scorer Mfon Udoh scored the only goal in the 58th minute.

The early kick-off of the match, because of the curfew imposed on Taraba state after the inconclusive gubernatorial elections, affected the flow of the game.

The searing heat took its toll on the players as both teams laboured to listless 0-0 score line in the first half.

Enyimba were able to ride their luck and the weather in the second half and duly took the lead after Udoh capitalised on a defensive error to put his side ahead.

The visitors curtailed all attempts by FC Taraba to equalise as they held on to the win.
