Naija Super 8: Sporting Lagos stun Remo Stars as Enyimba crash out

Enyimba will face Bendel Insurance in the opening matchday of the 2023/24 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
The fixtures were announced at the draw organised by the league in Abuja on Tuesday.
The nine-time NPFL champions will host the 2023 Federations Cup winners on the first matchday of the season on September 9 at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba.
Rivers United will clash with Remo Stars in another blockbuster match of the opening weekend. Shooting Stars of Ibadan will also play Plateau United, while Sunshine Stars will face Kano Pillars.
Sporting Lagos, the newly promoted side, will play their first-ever NPFL match against Gombe United at the Mobolaji Johnson stadium, while Heartland marks their return to top flight with Lobi Stars.
The new season will see the league revert to the full-length format after the 2022/23 edition was abridged.
The winners of the 2023/24 NPFL will earn N150 million in prize money.
