Enyimba maintain top spot despite loss
Enyimba of Aba lost 2-1 to El-Kanemi Warriors on match day 30 of the Nigeria Professional Football League at the Karkanda Stadium, Katsina.
The league leaders were a goal down after just eight minutes after Benjamin Turba fired a shot past Joshua Enaholo in goal for the Aba side.
Efe Yarhere doubled the lead in the 28th minute while Nzube Anaezemba was able to reduce the deficit in the dying seconds of the game.
But the Peoples Elephant remain top of the standings despite the loss.
In Umuahia, Warri Wolves lost 2-1 to Abia Warriors.
Henry Ochuba put the host ahead four minutes into the game, but Wolves got a deserved equaliser within five minutes through Joseph Osadiaye.
The host scored what proved to be the winner in the 54th minute through Ifeanyi Onyeali.
A 12th-minute strike from Seun Akinyemi helped Shooting Stars record a 1-0 win against Akwa United at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan.
